The most famous model of the most famous car in the world! This car was named by TV Land in 2004 as the most famous car in Television History. And this is the exact car that they gave that prestigious award to. This car has done a lot for me over the last 10 years and now it can be a part of your personal collection. I will give you a brief overview of what this car has done. It appeared in the last REAL Dukes of Hazzard movie, "Dukes Go To Hollywood". And under the hood are the autographs of all the living orginial cast members and crew that were on the TV show. It has been on such shows as TV Land, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, etc. It was the car that Warner Brothers used as a template to build all the General Lee's used on the latest incarnation of the Dukes of Hazzard movie starring Jessica Simpson and Willie Nelson. And what I'm most excited about is that it has recently starred as another car named Traveller in my most recent movie, Collier & Co, Hot Pursuit! Its a great family movie that I wrote, produced, starred in, well you get the picture. Its currently in theaters in different parts of the country, and it goes to DVD in September. Check it out and watch The General do what it does best, go fast! I have personally raced this car in a rally called The Silver State Classic Challenge, held in Nevada. I have also done numerous charity events in this car including raising over $7000.00 for Speedway Childrens Charities last year at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and another $4000.00 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in the fall at the Sam's Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park.Carl Edwards, now a personal friend and Nascar superstar, drove this car himself on that track to show me the proper racing line for my rides with the winners of that auction! And in Memphis, Carl invited me to watch the race from the top of his pit box with none other than legendary team owner Jack Roush! It would take a very long time to tell you everything about this car, so lets just stick to the relevant details. Although the plate says a 426 Hemi, the car actually has a 511 crate motor from 1998 that produces approx 725hp. It has suspension by Hotchkis, auxiliary transmission by Gear Vendor, Viper brakes, and a racing steering box. Although I hate to part with this car, I am really looking forward to building a new one, something I haven't done since I built this one. One more detail, there is an article coming out in a major car magazine where this car is compared and raced against the Starsky and Hutch car, and the Batmobile. Guess who won?

The company said Cho Seung-Hui, who also killed himself, did in recent months buy empty ammunition clips and a gun holster on eBay. He also sold other items including books and tickets to sporting events.
"Empty ammunition clips and gun holsters are unregulated items that can be legally bought and sold on eBay as well as in retail stores across the US. However, we are saddened that Mr. Cho purchased on eBay any item that may be linked with his actions last week," the company said in a statement.

There are a lot of Autoblog readers out there that are anxious to own a 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio, and we sure wouldn't mind having one in the Autoblog garage for a few weeks, either. Well, according to an eBay seller, the first 2008 Porsche 911 turbo drop-tops are on a boat from Germany and you can bid on it, even though there's no official confirmation that such a vehicle exists . The auction has a twist to it that we're seeing more and more on eBay: customers are bidding to see who is willing to pay the highest amount over MSRP.

The holder of the auction has of course provided a full list of options included with the car, including Sport Chrono Package Turbo ($1,840), and Carbon Multi Function Steering Wheel ($620). That sounded very exciting and all, but there were a few small problems with the auction that we found a bit odd, beginning with the spy photo above that was provided by the seller.

Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. What you see here is the "one and only truly original" Pink Panther car that featured in the credits of the 1960s cartoon... as driven by a small child and the aforementioned feline.
The seller is based in Scotland, but it was created by Hollywood builder Jay Ohrberg. With it being a cartoon car, it's not your usual vehicle. For a start, it's 23ft long, 6ft wide and is powered by a 7 litre engine, with front wheel drive. Mileage is low (a meagre 10 miles on the engine) but that's probably due to UK road regulations... it hasn't got any lights for a start. And if you want to show it off, you get written permission to stick the car on display from MGM. The starting bid is £75,000 - a bit steep for a pink car you can't legally drive. Still, you want it don't you?

UP for bid is a Genuine McDonalds Cheesburger that will be turning one year old on January 28, 2007. This Cheeseburger was purchased at a McDonalds in Lexington Kentucky at 8:37PM. It was ordered PLAIN. Still in its original wrapper with original grill slip and receipt.

After the cheeseburger was purchased it was simply placed on a shelf and left at room temperature for a year. Why you ask ? Two reasons....

One, Friends would often joke that I could sell anything on ebay so I figured I would pick something really odd and try. Second, Morgan Spurlock ( Supersize Me ) mentioned on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno that McDonalds Food will not decompose even after years sitting on a shelf. So, I wanted to see if it was really true.

The Results.....

After a year of sitting on a shelf, the cheeseburger still looks like it did when it was new. It has gotten slightly smaller due to dehydration. It never grew any mold, or fungus. Its now hard as stone. Bacteria will not even eat McDonalds food.

Well, the owner has decided to salvage what he can from the debacle that saw his beloved Elise tumble from a mechanic's lift by selling it on eBay. Actually, he's really selling it because a bad motorcycle accident left his leg not strong enough to shift the car anymore. He does give pretty good disclosure of the accident on the auction page, saying that his buddy, a body repair man, could fix the damage done by the fall for $2,000. Hmm... no thanks. It sounds like the car is still in driveable condition, however, and at the moment the bidding has reached only $13,601 with a litle over 3.5 days to go. Somebody needs to give this car a good home and nurse it back to health.

Ebay To Suspend All Virtual Item Auctions

A new report from technology news site Slashdot has revealed that online auction house Ebay intends to remove listings for all virtual items, regardless of type or game title, clamping down on third-party sales of gold and accounts from many popular MMOs.

Despite the Slashdot piece further explaining continued in-game item and currency sales through third party firms as IGE, previously profiled on Gamasutra in August, and Sony Online Entertainment's own internal Station Exchange for its line-up of MMO titles, eBay has decided to close down all virtual item listings due to their inherent 'legal complexities.' The policy currently in effect covers virtual items of any type, including in-game currency, items, and entire accounts or characters from MMOs, even up to, the report notes, 'neopoints' currency for casual virtual-pet website Neopets. Speaking to Slashdot, eBay spokesperson Hani Durzy told the site that the decision, rather than a new policy to end auctions, was instead simply a follow-through of existing site policy that sellers must own the intellectual property being sold. Durzy is quoted as saying the decision is intended to be "for the overall health of the marketplace," and that item listings would be pulled without punitive action for initial offenders, withholding actual seller removal for repeat offenders.

However, a large amount of virtual currency and objects from games such as World Of Warcraft and Ultima Online were still available on eBay as of press time, raising questions as to how swiftly and comprehensively the massive site could crack down on those posting such items - or, indeed, whether an active removal process was occurring.

This is just too sick for words. Maybe it was a factory attempt at ditching the soccer mom image. Or perhaps it's a reject from an episode of that failed pilot, Pimp My Mom's Ride. Whatever the motivation, somebody took a 1997 Chrysler Co. minivan and decided to turn it into a tri-tone, one-seat, open-top lowrider. The eBay description alternately describes it as a Chrysler and a Plymouth, but the nose is definitely a Dodge. So your guess is as good as ours as to which it truly is, but it's sort of a moot point. So little of the original vehicle is left anyway.

The seller begs us to believe he isn't responsible for this creation, and says that the vehicle runs and drives, but doesn't recommend taking it on the road as is. It's really a project car that somebody started and didn't finish. This Grand Voyager comes with a 3.0 V6 (with only 127,448 miles on it) that "runs decent," but "puffs some smoke at start up." The automatic shifts fine, but the van "rides like a buckboard." Perhaps the hydraulics were never sorted properly, as the tires rub, as well. If you've always wanted your own outrageous minivan conversion but didn't have the guts to take a torch to your mom's ride, then maybe this would be $1,000 well spent to get you started and avoid getting grounded. The tiny San Francisco area county was the talk of the town when an unknown developer snagged it in an eBay auction for $1.8M. Andrew Fischer of Omaha, Nebraska was not kidding when he auctioned off his head on eBay. The winner would be entitled to have a non-permanent tattoo on Fischer's forehead for 30 days as an advertisement campaign. By the time the auction ended, Fischer received a bid of $37,375 which he says will be used to pay for college. The winning bidder was SnoreStop, one of the leading sellers of anti-snoring medications in the United States. Of the affair, Fischer announced that "I am proud to be aligned with a product that has proven so helpful to so many people, though I doubt I'll be getting much sleep over the next four weeks!"

5.Virginity, To the Highest Bidder
English university student Rose Reid posted her virginity on eBay and within three days was flooded with more than 400 offers and a bid of £10,000. Asked about the novelty of her idea, Reid explained "It started as a joke, and ended up as 'why not?' I am devoting too much time to paid employment and not enough to studying. I am not achieving as much as I could. I'll leave university £15,000 in debt. That's why I am taking this drastic action." eBay eventually withdrew her listing, though Rosie carried on the auction through her own website, closing a final deal with a 44-year old engineer for £8,400.Celebrity Memorabilia

i think a fake...sure.

There has been much speculation thus far on the upcoming iPhone, but somebody apparently managed to snag one of these hybrid cellphone/MP3 player devices during Christmas and is now offering it up for sale on eBay at a wallet crunching $500. What do you get for plonking down that amount of dough? Apparently, not very much.

Half a grand will net you a 1.8" touchscreen display, a 2 megapixel camera, a microSD memory card slot, USB connectivity, and built-in MP3 playback capability. Of course, there are more reasons to believe that this is a hoax instead of the real thing, but who can really tell these days? Do leave a comment on what you think about it

If a car's been sitting at a dealership for 34 years, you'd expect it to develop a certain amount of vehicular arthritis, in the form of brittle rubber, aged braking components and rodent havens. In the case of this Volvo 1800ES, originally owned by Gordon Turner, proprietor of Turner Volvo, it's recieved regular attention during the 10,000 miles it's accrued during its time as a demo car.

For the uninitiated, 1800s are the "exotic" vintage Volvo and nice examples can trade for several thousand dollars. This one's got a starting bid of $20,000 and the reserve has yet to be met.More after the jump

Interestingly both items are listed as Buy It Nows: this kind of high-profile collectible is the traditional stronghold of the Auction format, and indeed, seems made for it. Are we now seeing the very last death throes of the eBay Auction listing

eBay Contextual Ads Expected In January 2007

eBay AdContext, the much awaited Adwords style contextual advertising program from ebay, will only be available to general publishers in the first quarter of 2007.

Like Adsense, this new eBay Ads system will also scan the text of your Web site for keywords and returns links to relevant eBay auctions. For example, if your webpage is about graphics software, you could expect to see link to ebay auctions about Photoshop Software, Training DVDs or even Photoshop User Magazine subscription.

Evan Schuman reason why AdContext could be a more paying alternative to publishers than Adwords:

The difference with Google's AdWords is an assumed greater time urgency. Someone might look at a Google ad and file it away for possible future action. An advertiser might never link that inquiry two months later with the Google ad. But the EBay link would likely be to a time-limited auction, theoretically making a quick purchase - and an associated clear advertiser ROI - more likely.

There won't be any third party ads but only links to auctions listed on the ebay.com website that match the keywords on your webpage.

Colorado woman selling snow on EBay

As if Colorado residents don't have enough snow to dig out from, one resident is offering more for a price on eBay. Starting bids were holding steady Friday at 99 cents for snow from "Blizzard I and Blizzard II" being offered by Mary Walker. She and husband, Jim, got the idea for selling snow after shoveling mounds from two storms a week apart that together dumped more than 4 feet along the Front Range.

"I figured eBay has ghosts and all sorts of weird stuff, so why not snow?" said Walker, who teaches business workshops on employee communications.

How much snow 99 cents or whatever the winning bid gets depends. Walker's auction notice suggests avoiding shipping and handling charges by stopping by their home and picking it up — in a dump truck.

Only 10 offerings of snow are available and the proceeds are earmarked for a used snowblower for Jim or a pair of shovels.

She says she doesn't really expect to find a buyer for their blizzard overstock.
"We just wanted to just give some folks a laugh," she said.

After some Pinks, it looks like we have a limited edition Orange Zune out in the wild! No83 of 100 was on sale on eBay, but nobody was interested paying more than $750 to buy it...

Up for bids is a brand new, VERY RARE, limited edition ORANGE Zune. That's right! The ORANGE one! Several pink Zunes have shown up on Ebay but I have yet to see an orange one. The box has been opened. I couldn't resist and actually used the Zune. However, I was extremely careful with it. It will arrive to you as if it were never touched. I did use the 14 day Zune Pass trial but I do not think that is much of a big deal. I accept only Paypal and will ship only to a confirmed address. Shipping will be $20.00 via USPS Priority mail. Insurance is included.

An example of the biblically powerful and epically fast Bugatti Veyron is up for grabs on eBay Motors, selling out of Frankfurt, Germany. With bidding starting at $1,675,000 and a Buy-It-Now price at $1,680,000 – a hefty markup over MSRP – it should come as no surprise that the supercar has yet to find a buyer.

This particular Veyron is listed as Silver in color, presumably the dark and light silver two-tone popular on the car, though oddly no pictures on the listing show the exterior of the car, aside from two shots of the unmistakable Veyron shape under a blue car cover.
The car is registered and offered in Germany, but Porsche specialist Gemballa will take care of the importation to North America should an American buyer manage to cough up the astronomical asking price.

It's the end of the year, so what better time to take stock of Bayraider's favourite celeb auctions from the past 12 months? Especially as it'll give me time to nip down to Woolworths and finish my Christmas shopping.

Anyway, I've spent 2006 ferreting out the most interesting eBay listings, some of which haven't been Paris, Britney or Angelina-related. Really. Here's the 30 worth remembering.

Way better than the sausage dogs you see being made at children's parties. Probably not popular in Kazakhstan, mind.

2. Syd Barrett's Christmas tree

EBay Seller eBay Seller Sentenced to 6.5 Years for Superbowl Ticket Scam

A Massachusetts man was sentenced in federal court on Thursday on wire and mail fraud charges for a scheme in which he advertised Superbowl tickets over the Internet, collected approximately $255,000 from customers, and then never provided either the tickets or refunds, according to a press release issued by U.S. Attorney.

United States Attorney Michael J. Sullivan and Peter Zegarac, Postal Inspector in Charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service in New England, announced that MICHAEL R. DEPPE, age 20, of Hudson, Massachusetts, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge F. Dennis Saylor, IV, to 6 years and 6 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release. DEPPE was also ordered to pay a $12,500 fine as well as $520,000 in restitution to his victims. The Court also ordered DEPPE to forfeit $370,000, including the $11,000 in cash that was found in his residence at the time of his arrest. Following a seven-day trial, on May 2, 2006, a jury convicted DEPPE of 3 counts of Wire Fraud and 2 counts of Mail Fraud.

According to the press release, evidence presented at trial proved that DEPPE's Superbowl ticket scam began approximately two weeks before the February 6, 2005 Superbowl, when DEPPE suggested to his business partner that they sell Superbowl tickets over online auction site eBay. DEPPE falsely told his partner that he had a contact at a reputable ticket agency in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and that this person was willing to let him sell Superbowl tickets on commission.

EBay Exiting China

eBay will close its China site and begin a relationship with Tom Online to create a replacement, our IDG News Service rep in Beijing, Steven Schwankert, reported today.

After failing to gain significant market share in China's consumer auction market, eBay will join Tom.com in creating a Tom.com-operated site in its stead, The Wall Street Journal said.

Rumors have been circulating for months that eBay was preparing to exit the China market, but were readily denied by the company. eBay bought Chinese auction site Eachnet in 2003 for $150 million. Eachnet was founded in Shanghai in the late 1990s by local entrepreneur Shao Yibo, and its Chinese name, "Yi Qu," still represents the site in China.

EBay Find of the Day: 2007 Lamborghini LP640

For all the ridiculousness this car exudes, you have to admit, this LP640 has brass balls. Or is that what you have to have to drive this thing on public roads? Either way, bids are currently at $180,000 and the reserve isn't yet met, so if you're kicking around some extra cabbage, this Lambo, in it's electric cabbage hue, could be yours. The e-gear equipped Murcielago has racked up 415 miles, so perhaps that could be a bargaining point should you have the wherewithal to pony up for this Italian that speaks with a German lilt. The metallic green is called Verde Ithaca, which makes it even more multicultural - a Greek green, yum. To us, the hue is akin to something that would've come on a dishwasher in the 1960s, but it's cool. We do like it, and there's nothing like the snarl of the Lambo V12 at full song. One thing we like about the unique shade is the way it accentuates the taut details of the Murcielago's shape. It really looks great with the beige and black interior. For all that, it's not anywhere near practical, but that's not why you buy this thing anyway, and if you're going to have something exclusive, might as well go for an Italian supercar that's not yellow or red.

Elvis' porcelain crown to go on eBay

MEMPHIS, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- The family of a Memphis dentist is putting the King of Rock and Roll's porcelain crown up for auction on eBay next month.

A press release from the family of Dr. Henry Weiss, who was Elvis Presley's dentist until 1971, said the model of Presley's teeth and the porcelain crown will be offered -- along with a letter of authenticity signed by Joe Esposito, Elvis' longtime road manager.

The eBay auction will begin Jan. 8, 2007, which would have been Presley's 72nd birthday.
The letter from Esposito says Weiss always kept an extra crown on the model of Elvis Presley's teeth in case he chipped or cracked his crown. In February 1971, Elvis cracked his crown on a microphone while performing in Las Vegas.

Esposito said Weiss' son, S. Lewis Weiss, flew a replacement crown to Las Vegas.

Another Ferrari FXX on eBay

When Ferrari sold 29 FXXs last year, only very special fans of the prancing horse were invited to buy. After writing $1.8 million checks, each of those FXX owners were treated like Ferrari factory test drivers, their cars shuttled to European tracks by the manufacturer, maintained by Ferrari mechanics and, if desired, stored at the Maranello test track.

Because of all the exclusivity connected with FXX ownership, purchasers also had to sign contracts requiring Ferrari permission for any FXX to ever be sold.

That's why it's rather surprising to see another one show up on eBay. Possibly even more surprising is the odometer reading of only 10 kilometers (6.2 miles). Who buys an FXX and never takes advantage of track time in Maranello? The eBay listing is by MDM Eurotics, but doesn't reveal the car's VIN or owner, so we may never know.

Bidding began at the bargain basement price of $750,000, and as of very early this morning, the price on the pristine supercar had reached $2.7 million. There's one clue to the owner's identity. The seller of this FXX may not be a car lover, but is definitely a shrewd investor.

How about one more FXX surprise? MDM Eurotics has not one but two FXXs for sale. The second also with only 10 km but is listed at €2.54 million ($3.34 million). Wow. Two FXXs in the same office. Hey, Boss? When are we getting ours
